Manama, Dec. 22 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Special Representative of His Majesty the King, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, chaired the eighth meeting of the award’s Board of Trustees for the fourth term (2022 – 2025).
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and First Deputy Chairman of the Board, along with all board members.
The board reviewed the agenda items, including the report of the jury for the sixth session (2024 – 2025), which evaluated 150 nominations from individuals and organizations worldwide. The jury, chaired by Professor Jan Paulsson, an international law expert, shortlisted five candidates as potential recipients.
The board commended the professional efforts of the jury, which included distinguished experts in humanitarian service locally and globally.
The board discussed the shortlisted candidates’ work, assessed their alignment with the award criteria, and selected two finalists.
The board tasked the award’s General Secretariat with arranging field visits to both entities to verify their achievements and backgrounds. A detailed report on each institution will be submitted to the board for final selection of the winner.
The board also addressed other agenda items and took required decisions and actions.
