Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA):

His Highness Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty the King, and Chairman of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity Board of Trustees, chaired the eight meeting of the fourth session of the award 2022-2025.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the memoranda included in the agenda items and reviewed the proposal to form an arbitration committee for the sixth session (2024-2025) submitted by the General Secretariat.

Council members expressed their appreciation for the General Secretariat’s proposal and requested that the circle of arbitrators be expanded to include international members.

The meeting reviewed the details of the media plan which has been proposed by the National Contact Centre (NCC) for global promotion of the Award.

 They also discussed the memorandum on the formation of a field taskforce to contribute to the nomination process and broaden its scale.

The members commended the taskforce’s efforts in identifying and contacting individuals and organisations serving humanitarian causes worldwide.

Manama, Dec 25 (BNA): The Secretariat General of the Isa Award for Services to Humanity announced that accepting nominations for the Award’s sixth edition (2023/2024) will stop by the end of January 2024.

The Secretariat General of the Award, opened doors for nominations in July.

The award was launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in 2009,  as a tribute to the His Highness the late Amir Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa who dedicated his life to serving humanity.

By honouring and rewarding those who provide exceptional services to humanity, the Award recognises HH Shaikh Isa’s outstanding humanitarian legacy and the impact he had on his country and on the world.

Ali Abdullah Khalifa, member of the Board of Trustees and Secretary-General of the Award, affirmed the important role of  the Board of Trustees of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Special Representative of HM the King, in strengthening the prestigious global status of this award and broadening horizons for it to explore distinguished humanitarian efforts and works, as well as supporting their progress, which reflects the depth of the humanitarian policy of the Kingdom.

The Secretary-General highlighted that the award demonstrates the approach of the Kingdom of adopting pioneering global initiatives, as well as in honouring and motivating humanitarian work, noting that the award is the first of its kind on a global scale.

“The award aims to recognise the efforts that serve humanity, regardless of race, region or nationality, and to serve as an incentive to all those who work to alleviate the suffering of the needy wherever they might be,” he said.

The Award is open to individuals, organisations, research centres, and pioneers who fund humanitarian projects worldwide, whose work benefits the largest possible segment of people without discrimination, and is not political or partisan.

The Isa Award for Service to Humanity is presented, every two years, to people and projects in the following areas: disaster response and relief, education, community service, promoting dialogue of civilisations, promoting tolerance, promoting social peace, urban development, climate change and protecting the environment, scientific achievement,  alleviation of poverty and destitution; and any other field of humanitarian service.

A jury of experts from around the world will select the nominees’ works.

The winner of the Award will be presented with a Royal Certificate of Appreciation, a gold medal, and US $1 million at a ceremony  held in the Kingdom of Bahrain In June 2025,  under the patronage of HM the King.

Amman, Oct. 8 (BNA): The Arab Awards Forum concluded its work in Amman yesterday, by electing Valentina Qussisiya, CEO of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF), as Deputy CEO, and Ali Abdullah Khalifa, Secretary-General of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, as member of the Forum’s Executive Council.

The Forum’s General Assembly reviewed the proposal for partnership with the Arab Thought Foundation (ATF) to establish and launch an electronic platform for Arab Awards, under the supervision of Professor Henri Awit, Director General of ATF.

The assembly also reviewed join requests from various Arab countries and approved five new awards; the Abdul Hameed Shoman Children’s Literature Award, the Nile Award for the Most Creative Arab, the Dar Suad Al Sabah Publishing and Distribution House awards, the Mohamed Zafzaf Prize for Arabic Novel and the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo (YBA) Award from Bahrain.

Amman, Oct. 2 (BNA): Isa Award for Service to Humanity is participating in the Arab Prizes Forum in Jordan on October 2-6.

Ali Abdullah Khalifa, the award’s Secretary-General attended. 

Representatives of 22 Arab Prizes shall participate in the forum, which was established in Riyadh in 2018 under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al Faisal.

The participation of the General Secretariat of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity in this Forum coincides with receiving nominations for the award in its sixth edition.

Khalifa will attend the General Assembly meeting of the Arab Prizes Forum and the award ceremony of Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation.

Manama, Sept. 19 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Special Representative of His Majesty the King and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, chaired the seventh meeting of the fourth session of the award 2022-2025.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed topics in the agenda and the memorandum regarding the development of the award’s work during the past 15 years.

The board also discussed the results of the announcement of the opening of nominations for the award for the sixth session in the local, Arab and international media in cooperation with the Bahrain National Communication Centre (NCC), and the production of a short documentary about the award to display on airlines.

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak was briefed on the General Secretariat of the Award’s participation in the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Awards Forum, which will be held next October in Amman, Jordan.

 The council assigned the General Secretariat to expand the participation of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity at the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD), which will be held in April 2024.

Manama, July 22 (BNA): The Secretariat General of the Isa Award for Services to Humanity has announced that is now accepting nominations for the Award’s sixth edition (2023/2024).

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa launched the Award in 2009, as a tribute to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may Allah rest his soul in peace, who dedicated his life to serving humanity. By honouring and rewarding those who provide exceptional services to humanity, the Award recognises Shaikh Isa’s outstanding humanitarian legacy and the impact he had on his country and on the world.

On the occasion, Ali Abdullah Khalifa, member of the Board of Trustees and Secretary-General of the Award, stressed the crucial role played by the Board of Trustees of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Special Representative of HM the King, in strengthening the prestigious global status of this award and opening new horizons for it to explore distinguished humanitarian efforts and works, as well as supporting their progress, which confirms the depth of the humanitarian policy of the Kingdom.

The Secretary-General affirmed that the award reflects the uniqueness of the Kingdom in adopting pioneering global initiatives, as well as in honouring and motivating humanitarian work, noting that the award is the first of its kind at the global level, as nit contributes to the service of humanity, and enjoys momentum and international acclaim, which has given it great moral value, and made it the subject of interest for owners of unique humanitarian projects in the world.

“The award seeks to recognise the efforts that seek to serve humanity, regardless of creed or geographical or national proximity, to become an incentive for everyone who seeks to serve humans, and works to alleviate the suffering of the needy wherever they are,” he said.

Individuals, organisations, scientific research centres and pioneers who fund humanitarian projects from anywhere in the world may nominate themselves for the Award, provided that their humanitarian work must benefit the largest possible segment of people without discrimination, and it must be non-political and non-profit.

The Isa Award for Service to Humanity is presented, every two years, to people and projects in the following fields:

· Disaster response and relief

· Education

· Community service

· Promoting dialogue among civilisations

· Promoting human tolerance

· Promoting social peace

· Urban development

· Climate change and protecting the environment

· Scientific achievement

· Alleviation of poverty and destitution

· Any other field of humanitarian service

A jury of experts from around the world will judge the nominees’ works.

The winner of the Award will be presented with a Royal Certificate of Appreciation, a medal made of pure gold, and US $1 million at a ceremony in the Kingdom of Bahrain In June 2025.      The meeting reviewed topics in the agenda.

     The board discussed proposals related to media role, suggestions of experts in international institutions of humanitarian concern, and what artificial intelligence (AI) can serve the development of the award.      They had invited members of the previous arbitration committees whom are: Mohammed Bin Isa, Dr. Riyadh Yusuf Hamzah and Dr. Waheeb Isa Al Naser to participate in the exchange of innovative proposals that could help to anticipate the desired goals for which the award was established.
